Who this A330 Refresher course is for

For staff who already know the A330

The A330 Refresher CBT is designed for professionals who already have A330 knowledge from an earlier General Familiarization course, type training or operational experience and need structured continuation training.

Typical profiles

  • CAMO / Part-CAMO staff keeping A330 knowledge current for continuing airworthiness.
  • Part-145 non-certifying staff maintaining awareness of A330 systems and powerplant.
  • Engineers who have been away from the A330 for a period and are returning to the type.
  • Technical managers and nominated persons who need periodic refreshment of A330 knowledge.
  • Students and early-career engineers revisiting the A330 after an initial Gen Fam.
Important: this A330 Refresher works at General Familiarization (Level 1) depth and is meant for recurrent training and competence upkeep. It is not a Part-66 type rating and does not by itself grant maintenance certification privileges or a Certificate of Release to Service.
EASA context in one paragraph: organisations often use this course as part of their continuation / refresher training to support competency requirements in Part-145 and Part-CAMO. For a detailed explanation of how General Familiarization and Refresher training fit into EASA Part-66 and organisational requirements, see:

EASA: General Familiarization (Level 1) & Refresher / Recurrent Training

A330 variants and engine coverage

All three engine families in one refresher

The refresher uses the same A330 variant and engine coverage as our A330 General Familiarization and A330 Level 3 CBT, so engineers keep a single mental model across all courses.

Aircraft variants
  • A330-200.
  • A330-300.
Engine families
  • Rolls-Royce Trent 700.
  • Pratt & Whitney PW4000.
  • General Electric CF6.

All three engine families are handled in the same refresher path, ideal for mixed A330 fleets and cross-engine authorisations.

How this appears on the certificate

Certificate wording states that the learner completed an A330 Refresher course for A330-200/300 with Trent 700, PW4000 and CF6. This makes it clear that the recurrent training covered the full A330-200/300 engine set, not a single-engine variant.

EASA & competence system alignment

Continuation training focus
Continuation / refresher training

Supports the idea of keeping staff competent and current on the A330 type after their initial familiarization or type training, in line with Part-145 and Part-CAMO expectations.

For CAMO / Part-CAMO

Provides documented evidence that staff responsible for A330 continuing airworthiness periodically refresh their knowledge of the aircraft’s systems and powerplant.

For Part-145 & others

Fits neatly into your continuation training plan for non-certifying staff, technical support roles and management, alongside your own procedures and local training modules.

How organisations use this A330 Refresher CBT

Deployment patterns

Inside airlines, MROs and training organisations

  • As a periodic A330 refresher for CAMO / Part-CAMO and technical management staff.
  • As continuation training for Part-145 non-certifying personnel supporting A330 operations.
  • To refresh engineers who are transitioning back onto the A330 after time on other types.
  • As a documented recurrent module inside the MOE / CAME training matrix.
Self-study with tracking (when integrated)Instructor-led refresh sessionsBlended with your procedures

For individual engineers and students

  • Self-paced A330 systems and layout refresher before checks, audits or role changes.
  • Revisiting the key systems and ATA structure after a previous A330 Gen Fam or type course.
  • Maintaining confidence in mixed engine fleets (Trent 700, PW4000, CF6).

Individual users typically purchase the A330 Refresher through the PAFAERO store, while organisations obtain licences directly from us to align tracking, documentation and certification with their programme.

Why organisations choose PAFAERO for A330 refresher training

Frequently asked questions

Short technical answers
What certificate do learners receive?

On successful completion of the required time, learners receive a PAFAERO A330 Refresher Certificate of Achievement showing A330-200/300 and all three engine families (Trent 700, PW4000, CF6), together with the recorded study hours. Your organisation can file this as evidence alongside its own competence and authorisation records.

Is there an exam at the end?

No formal exam is required for certificate issuance. The key requirement is completion of at least 15 hours of active study time inside the CBT, in line with your programme. Your organisation may add its own checks or assessments if needed.

Do learners need a previous A330 course before taking this refresher?

Yes, the refresher is intended for people who already have A330 knowledge from a previous General Familiarization, type course or operational experience. If your staff are new to the A330, we recommend starting with an A330 General Familiarization course and then using this Refresher as part of your continuation training plan.

Can we integrate this into our existing continuation training plan?

Yes. Many operators embed the A330 Refresher CBT into their Part-145 / Part-CAMO training matrix alongside local procedures, documents and checks. We can help you map it into your plan if needed.
